For more than a decade, Serato has used his restaurant to raise money for various charities. Every year he raises about $50,000 for Paint Your Heart Out Anaheim, enlisting the mayor, police chief and other community leaders as waiters.

For the Anaheim Boys and Girls Club, Serato pays all expenses for an annual fund-raising dinner. To support the club, he created a women's support group named Catarina's Club after his mother, who lives in Italy . The group meets quarterly at Anaheim White House with all proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Club.

The club provides help for children who live in local motels. Serato learned of one 8 year-old boy who lost his flute and arranged for a customer to donate an instrument, which the child played at this year's fund-raising dinner.
