ANAHEIM WHITE HOUSE PAYS HOMAGE TO JULIA CHILD WITH MONTH-LONG PROMO

(Chefs To Recreate Famous Recipes In Tandem With Debut of “Julie & Julia” in Theatres)
When Nora Ephron's new comedy "Julie & Julia" appears in movie theaters nationwide on Aug. 7, there will be one more good reason to enjoy dinner and a movie. The Anaheim White House will kick-off a month-long tribute to the subject of the film, the legendary Julia Child, by preparing recipes from her “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” throughout the month of August. Owner Bruno Serato, a fan of Child’s, has tapped his Executive Chef Eddie Meza and Executive Catering Chef Maurice Brazier, to develop the menu. Reservations can be made by calling (714) 772-1381.

Brazier’s involvement is particularly noteworthy since he holds special French honors including Chevalier du Merit National Award presented by the President of France to honor his exemplary lifelong dedication to the art of French cuisine and recognition as an Officer of Merit in that nation’s Department of Agriculture. He also occupies one of only 100 seats of the Academie Culinaire de France, an organization that has been governing and controlling French cuisine for about 200 years.

“I am delighted to bring together two top talents to bring to life recipes from one of my greatest inspirations, Julia Child,” said Serato. “We are putting together a special, rotating menu that will be available throughout the month of August that pays tribute to this legend and we hope that the public joins us on this special culinary journey.”

“Julie and Julia” chronicles the story of two famous women whose lives revolve around food. "Julie" is Julie Powell, the blogger who wrote the book "Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes"; "Julia" is famed chef Julia Child, whose memoir "My Life in France," provides the inspiration for the storyline. Two-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep portrays Child while Oscar-nominee Amy Adams is Julie. The story follows the two who are separated by time but united in their love of gastronomy.

Situated in a historic national landmark mansion dating to 1909, the restaurant offers a quixotic menu of northern Italian/French fare, extensive wine list, unparalleled service and an elegant setting to create a dining experience that is timeless, remarkable and without equal. As a result, the restaurant has received such coveted distinctions as the “International Five Star Diamond Award” from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences and top rankings in the Zagat Dining Guide. Among its celeb clientele: Madonna, Sidney Portier, Gwen Stefani, Oscar de la Hoya and Presidents Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush. The Anaheim White House is located at 887 South Anaheim Blvd., in Anaheim, Orange County. Visit www.anaheimwhitehouse.com.
