Caterina's Club Red Carpet Gala Fundraiser Rolls Out Aug 27 At Marconi Automotive Museum

(Funds Support Sir Bruno Serato’s Nonprofit That Feeds 3,050 Kids in Need Nightly)

All engines will be revved up as Sir Bruno Serato hosts his 12th annual Red Carpet Gala fundraiser for Caterina’s Club at the Marconi Automotive Museum (1302 Industrial Drive, Tustin) on Sunday, August 27 starting at 5 p.m. In addition to feeding 3,050 children in need each night, the nonprofit helps place families living in squalid motel conditions into cleaner and safer environments. Caterina’s Club also partners with the Anaheim School District to run the Hospitality Program that seeks to divert high school students from gangs and other bad influences by teaching them about the food, hospitality and service industries.

Tickets to the gala are $275 each and there are a number of sponsorship opportunities that can be purchased by visiting caterinasclub.org.

This year’s gala will honor four longtime Caterina’s Club supporters: Carlo Ponti Jr., maestro and son of movie legend Sophia Loren who is being honored for introducing children to the musical arts through his own foundation; Kali P. Chaudhuri, M.D. of KPC Healthcare who has demonstrated extraordinary financial support to Caterina’s Club; Chapman University President Daniele Struppa, who relentlessly advocates for the nonprofit by enlisting students to donate their time and energy on various projects; and Chadia Alameddin of Betinnis who has organized fashion show fundraisers for several years.

The evening will start with a cocktail reception during which guests may view Dick Marconi’s multi-million-dollar car collection while bidding on silent auction items. Next, a multi-course dinner accompanied by fine wines will be served while the evening’s honorees are recognized. Capping off the evening will be a live auction as dessert is served.

Caterina’s Club has extended its reach beyond Southern California to include programs in Chicago, New York, Texas, Mexico and Italy. In addition, his Welcome Home Program has already placed more than 100 families into safer, cleaner environments and its Hospitality Academy has helped nearly 100 students receive hands-on experience and even paid internships in restaurants, hotels and catering operations as they consider careers in the field following graduation.

For his humanitarian work, Serato has earned international publicity including profiles in People Magazine, “CBS Evening News” and newspapers and magazines the world over. Among his many honors is being named a CNN Hero, being knighted by the Italian government, receiving a papal blessing from Pope Francis, getting a humanitarian award on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, and receiving numerous proclamations, Man of the Year awards and other forms of recognition -- all of which he accepts to generate public awareness of the needs of our most vulnerable population – our children.
